| Synopsis : | An exhibition of works by Ahmad Zakii Anwar, one of Malaysia’s leading figurative painters. A native of Johor, Zakii has been a major influence on the development of figurative realism within painting in contemporary Malaysian art. Curated by Anurendra Jegadeva, the works presented here trace Zakii's development and future direction as an artist. Look out also for these other events lined up in conjunction with the exhibition: In Conversation: Ahmad Zakii Anwar and Eddin Khoo Sat 19 Jul 2008 (4pm) Join Eddin Khoo in conversation with Ahmad Zakii Anwar, as they discuss Zakii’s art and career as an artist. Curatorial Tour Tue 22 and Tue 29 Jul 2008 (7pm) A guided tour of the exhibition with Anurendra Jegadeva, curator of Disclosure. Workshop: Drawing with charcoal by Ahmad Zakii Anwar Sat 9 Aug 2008 (2pm) Join Ahmad Zakii Anwar as he conducts a workshop in charcoal drawing.
